Polymorphic Hybrid CMOS-MTJ Logic Gates for Hardware Security Applications

Various hardware security concerns, such as Trojans and IP piracy, have sparked studies in the field employing alternatives to CMOS chips. Spintronic devices are among most-promising for applications that need low power consumption, non-volatility, ease of integration with silicon substrates. This article looked at how can be made more secure by utilizing special features spintronics devices. Spintronic-based used build polymorphic gates (PGs), which conceal functionality circuits during fabrication. Since spintronic magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) offer non-volatile properties, state these written only once after fabrication correct functionality. Symmetric using two-terminal MTJs three-terminal were designed, analyzed, compared this article. The simulation results demonstrated a single control signal alter circuit, adversary would find it challenging reverse-engineer design due similarity logic blocks’ internal structures. use PGs IC watermarking fingerprinting was also explored TSMC 65nm MOS technology Cadence Spectre simulator all simulations work. For comparison between structures based on different MTJs, physical dimension kept precisely same.
